1. Test On Warm Skin, Not Paper Blotters
Paper strips only reflect synthetic top notes. Natural extracts, ouds, ambers, and musks need your skin's natural oils and body warmth to bloom and project.
2. Never Rub Your Wrists Together
Friction heats the fragrance excessively and bruises delicate volatile top molecules (like citrus and delicate floral aldehydes), ruining the intended progression.
3. Judge At The 2-Hour Mark
Top notes fade after 20-30 minutes. What you live with for the next 8 hours is the heart and base drydown. Give the perfume time to tell its complete story.
